Renegades and compLexity headed to StarLadder i-League Season 6
StarLadder have revealed twelve of the sixteen teams that will be attending the sixth season of the Kiev-based tournament in October, with Fnatic, NiP, North, HellRaisers, Renegades and Gambit being directly invited.
The seven invited teams will join Fragsters and NRG, who had both previously qualified through the event's European and North American qualifiers, respectively.
StarLadder have also announced changes to slot distribution for the North American and European qualifiers. Previously, both regional qualifiers only sent one team to the finals, but the North American qualifier now qualifies two teams and the European qualifier qualifying four teams. With these changes, the American runner-up compLexity has earned a spot at the event, along with Imperial, OpTic, and Sprout from the European qualifier.
With twelve of the attending teams revealed, only four vacant slots remain. It certainly seems likely that one of the remaining invites will be extended to hometown heroes Natus Vincere, who will look to defend their title. The last two teams will soon be decided in the Asia qualifier, which is currently underway and is set to finalize on August 20th.
With most of the invites revealed, the current team list is:
Fnatic | Gambit | HellRaisers | NiP |
North | Renegades | Invite | Invite |
Fragsters | Imperial | OpTic | Sprout |
NRG | compLexity | Asia Qualifier | Asia Qualifier |
StarLadder i-League Season 6 is set to kick off on October 7th and finish on October 14th in Kiev, Ukraine. The event will collide with cs_summit 3, which is set to start on October 10th.
