Swole Patrol to grand finals, BlackOut knock out Vision
Last night in Philadelphia saw the remainder of the upper bracket conclude, and saw progress in the lower bracket where a number of upsets came up.
In the upper bracket, Gorilla Gang remained strong, taking down Hooked in round 4. Swole Patrol's muscles and swag was far too much for the gang however, as Gorilla Gang were knocked down to the lower bracket finals in a 2-1 series, where two clean 16-4's from Swole Patrol sandwiched a close 19-17 win from Gorilla Gang.
With the victory over Gorilla Gang, Braxton "swag" Pierce will make his second appearance in a Fragadelphia grand finals after reaching last year's with ownage.
In the lower bracket, round 3 saw multiple standard results, with RESOLUTE taking down Dignitas fe, BlackOut taking down Guerrilla Tactics, and Mythic taking down iNTACT. Round 4 of the lower bracket was where the huge losses came, as 1st seed and MDL finalists Vision were knocked out by BlackOut, who they had previously beaten in the grand finals of Tokyo in Tulsa 2.
Vision weren't the only MDL team to get knocked out in this round, as RESOLUTE fell to the eUnited/Dignitas mix ownage, despite Tyson "TenZ" Ngo's best efforts to keep his team in the game.
While oNe are currently only in Advanced, the Brazilian team have been making strides in North America and were a favorite coming into Fragadelphia. Alas, as the bracket narrowed, they had to face off against Mythic. Despite previous promising results and a decent first map, oNe were unable to overcome the streamers, going out 2-0 to Mythic.
