NRG blitz through Gambit, to IEM Shanghai grand finals
The series kicked off on Train, with NRG handily taking the first two rounds of the series. Gambit retaliated, taking two rounds before NRG began to gain back the momentum, bringing them to a 7-3 lead. Both teams continued to trade rounds in the first half, with NRG retaining their lead 9-6 at halftime.
Similar to the first half, NRG took the pistol round in the second half and were able to convert into the following round. NRG continued to be extremely dominant on the T-side, ultimately closing out the map 16-8.
The North Americans continued to stride forward on their map pick of Overpass. Jacob "FugLy" Medina led his team through a strong first half, easily taking the first half 12-3 on the T-side.
Gambit continued to struggle to take any rounds off the North Americans, as NRG swept up the final four rounds they needed to wrap up the map 16-3 and take the series 2-0.
NRG move on to the grand finals of IEM Shanghai, where they will face off against Tyloo at a home-field disadvantage.
