StarSeries i-League Season 6 announced
StarLadder has announced the upcoming season of StarSeries i-League, which will take place in the Kiev CyberSport Arena and run from October 7th to October 14th. Akin to its past iterations, the event will have 16 total teams and a $300,000 prize pool.
The event will also boast GGBet qualifiers in the Americas and Europe, as well as Asian qualifiers in cooperation with ImbaTV.
The group stage retains its Swiss system, however the matches have been converted to best-of-one, as opposed to the best-of-three swiss system that has been in use for the past two seasons of StarSeries i-League. The playoffs remains largely unchanged, with a single-elimination best-of-three bracket, however the grand finals have been bumped to a best-of-five series.
The last season of StarSeries i-League saw NRG take on Na`Vi in the grand finals, a first for the American team. While NRG were unable to shut down s1mple, the event solidified the team as one of the top teams in the world.
