Can stanislaw lead another team to a Minor victory?

Dignitas, compLexity, boxr, and Ghost go 1-0 in NA Minor Closed Qualifier

The sixteen teams have been reseeded into 1-0 and 0-1 brackets.

The second set of matches for the Americas Minor NA Closed Qualifier have come to a close with the final eight teams dividing themselves into the 1-0 and 0-1 pools.

Ghost faced Bravado in their opening matchup. The EPL side, who were fielding coach  James "JamezIRL" Macaulay in the stead of in-game leader Joshua "steel" Nissan, shocked the South African team with a 2-0 victory on Train and Overpass.

Dominant performances in the first halves of both maps saw Ghost firmly shut Bravado out of the series. A 13-2 half lead on the T side of Train all but ensured a first map victory, and an 11-4 CT side alongside a second half pistol win sealed the deal for the team on Overpass. The team will need a repeat performance if they hope to continue steamrolling teams without their in-game leader in tow.

Dignitas put up an ironclad defense on Mirage to pick up a 14-1 half. Although the second pistol round failed to go their way, Dignitas seemed set to take the victory after the first gun round put them up to match point. A lackluster T side from Dignitas allowed oNe to claw back into the map, running the scoreboard back up to 15-12 before the Americans closed out Mirage.

The series seemed set to be competitive as oNe found nine rounds on their CT side of Train; unfortunately their T side proved to be non-existent on Train as Dignitas swept the board, closing out the series 2-0 with a 16-9 victory on Train.

compLexity also mustered up a large lead in a first half, although theirs came on the second map. The opening map of the series saw a back-and-forth affair with Mythic on Nuke as the teams found themselves sitting just one round apart after the first half.

Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz and co. ensured a swift victory for his team as they took their T side pistol round, throtting Mythic with an economic reset late into the half, and relenting only two rounds after residing on matchpoint before closing it out.

Train saw an even easier affair for compLexity as a domiant 12-3 CT side allowed them plenty of room to close out the series, taking home the map 16-8 to move the team into the 1-0 bracket.

Swole Patrol and boxr faced off in the only series of day 1 to go to map 3. Swole Patrol took firm control of Nuke with a 10-5 opening half, and after a short struggle to get control of their second half economy managed to put themselves in control with a first map win.

They seemed set to follow through on Cache with another dominant 10-5 CT side, but failed to mount an offense as boxr put up an even firmer hold on their CT side. Granting Swole Patrol only one T side round, boxr cruised to a 16-11 finish to tie up the series.

It was on Train that boxr took matters into their own hands and show as an EPL team, continuing their stellar CT side performance from Cache to pick apart the MDL side of Swole Patrol. A brutal 13-2 half allowed Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen and co. to close out the series with a 16-5 finish.
