ImAPet joins NRG as Immi departs
NRG have announced a change to their coaching team, with British coach Ian "Immi" Harding leaving the squad by mutual consent. He had joined the team as a coach at the start of March, implementing a tactical change that caused near-immediate success.
His decision comes just a week after failing to secure a visa to be able to live and work in the USA for NRG, a failure that meant he missed the ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals. The writing on the wall for this decision was seen after he joined an ESEA roster with former Endpoint teammate Ben "Esio" Doughty last week.
Immi only managed to attend one event with the team, the recent IEM Sydney, where the team didn't breach the group stage, albeit after close games with Astralis and G2. Online the team were more prolific, securing tournament spots through qualifiers and reaching the top two spaces in the ESL Pro League and ECS seasons.
NRG's replacement for the coaching role is former OpTic coach, Chet "ImAPet" Singh, who has been out of a job since the organization moved to an all-Danish roster in the middle of April. His first event with the team shall be the StarSeries i-League Season 5 Finals in Kiev next week.
NRG is now currently as follows:
- Jacob "FugLy" Medina
- Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte
- Cvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov
- Damian "daps" Steele
- Ethan "nahtE" Arnold
- Chet "ImAPet" Singh (Coach)
