Squirtle Squad catch L0NER and phantom

Squirtle Squad, the core of the former Iceberg team, have added Jacob "L0NER" Webster from CheckSix and Ali "phantom" Sachs from ex-eRa to their roster, Dust2.us has learned. This lineup has already been seen playing in a few open qualifiers in the past weeks.

The new players are filling the spots of Warren "hades" Rettich and Nick "alter" Jackson, both of whom left the team in April. L0NER played with the core of CheckSix since Season 26, and only barely escaped relegation in Season 27. phantom joined eRa when Season 27 began, and had a relatively good season overall.

The Squitle Squad core had quite a surprising run in Season 27 as after a 0-4 start they went on an 11 game winning streak before ending the regular season 11-5. They also surprised in the playoffs, taking down Atmosphere in the quarterfinals, and only fell to eUnited and Torqued afterwards.

Season 28 of MDL is set to begin on May 15th, and will run until July 22nd. There won't be an offline finals for this season however, and it is also not a promotion season to Pro League.
