NRG qualify for IEM Sydney over compLexity
NRG have topped the North American Closed Qualifier for IEM Sydney and earned a spot at the $250K event in May. They took down compLexity in the final after besting Liquid in their semifinal.
NRG dominated the first half of their map pick Cache, and decidedly closed it out 16-10, with Ethan "nahtE" Arnold topping the scoreboard with 23 kills. Interestingly, the second map, which was picked by coL, was easier for the NRG side, as a near flawless CT side allowed the Damian "daps" Steele-led side to win 16-9. Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte was the main man on Nuke and also sported 23 kills in the map.
Notably, usual star Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov was at the bottom of the table, but it is unlikely that the form would continue.
With this result, NRG have secured the single avenue of qualification from North America, and join the seven invited sides and the winner of the Europe Qualifier, Astralis.
