cole and Aceflyin claim WPL Weekend Cup top spots
It was a long fought weekend for players in the inaugural WPL Weekend Cups for their respective divisions. Nearly 110 players fought between both our WPL divisions for a cumulative prize pool of $500.
Taking home first in Division 1 was cole, who just narrowly edged out Anthony "Vanity" Malaspina with 1,628 points to claim the victory. cole ended the weekend with a 68% win rate over 19 matches played and even ended on a three game win streak. Vanity still sees himself with a narrow lead on the Division 1 Season 1 leaderboard, however.
Topping Division 2, we saw Aceflyin breeze through the competition as he maintained his lead until the cups conclusion. While he was tied for first with 7opheR just yesterday, he took a compelling lead towards the end of Sunday, ending with a point total of 1,680. Aceflyin played a total of 26 matches with a 69% win rate.
Notably, Aceflyin also has a commanding lead on the Division 2 Season 1 standings, and has nearly double the games of almost any other participant in the division.
As was stated in our previous update for cup standings, the $75 purse from the temporary closure of Division 3 was added to the Division 2 pot. The prize distribution for both cups can be found below:
Division 1 Weekend Cup
- Cole "cole" Werry - $300
Division 2 Weekend Cup
- Andy "Aceflyin" Zedan - $200
