Two close maps see Liquid head to the grand final

Liquid navigate SK's defenses, to cs_summit 2 Grand Final

The North American mixture cause a major upset against the Brazilian side.

The consolidation final was to be between Liquid and SK, as the two teams faced off to reach the grand final. The two teams were set to face off on Cobblestone, Train and Mirage.

Cobblestone began with SK's T-side opening up the board, but Liquid instantly answered back with a forcebuy the following round. From there the North American mix seemingly wrestled the game's control out of SK's hands with a ten round unbeaten streak, with Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken and Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski securing multiple multi-kill rounds throughout the streak.

SK did manage to secure another round in the first half, but Liquid swiftly closed out the remaining three rounds with relative ease, with Nick "nitr0" Cannella securing a 3k in the pivotal middle round. This saw Liquid take an exceptional 13-2 lead.

The second half was markedly different. SK secured the pistol round and following anti-ecos in quick fashion, starting their CT-side in required fashion. From there they secured the next two rounds, with Epitacio "TACO" de Melo being the pivotal character to keep his team in the game.

Liquid then secured the next round to grab their 14th, but SK returned with another streak of rounds. With Marcelo "coldzera" David and Fernando "fer" Alvarenga starting to up their performance in the second half, as the Brazilians took their game into double figures. Although Liquid secured match point first, Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and co. nailed the final five rounds of the half to even the game up, causing overtime with the 15-15 scoreline.

Liquid started the overtime with their T-side, before seeing SK even the score once again in the second round, and took the lead with the following round. But from there Liquid secured the final three rounds of the second half securing the first map 19-17, ending SK's 7-0 unbeaten streak on Cobblestone.

Train was up next, and it was Liquid who began the scoring with the pistol round and two anti-ecos on their T-side. SK came straight into the game with the first buy round, before Liquid returned fire in the next round. But on a desperate forcebuy, SK got back into the game to collect the next four rounds as coldzera was looking to control the game.

But Liquid were to be in control in the first half, constructing an extremely strong T-side. nitr0 kicked off an extremely successful eco round win, following it up with the round afterwards. Although TACO more-or-less single handedly secured SK's own eco win, Liquid nailed the final three rounds of the half for a 9-6 lead before their CT-side.

Liquid continued their form from the end of the first half, securing the pistol round and following two anti-ecos. SK returned fire straight away, comfortably securing the next two rounds as they started to claw their way back into the game. The two sides then traded rounds, from which Liquid secured the 14th round in their run to cause a sizeable upset.

SK proceeded to collect the next two rounds, with coldzera and fer proving key to bring their side back into the tie. But disaster struck, as Twistzz secured three Deagle kills to allow Liquid to win their eco round to secure match point. From there it was Liquid to clean up the final round, with Keith "NAF" Markovic's new side taking Train 16-11.
