Not his choice

NAF on missing Cluj: "I don’t want to be chilling for the next month doing nothing"

Let the players play.

After a dominant win against Wildcard at IEM Katowice, Liquid are moving on to the main event. With the team not attending PGL Cluj-Napoca, earning Valve Ranking points in Katowice is crucial.

As reported earlier, the decision to skip PGL Cluj-Napoca is not one made by the Liquid coaches or players. It also appears that long-time star Keith "NAF" Markovic isn't too thrilled about the decision.

When asked about missing the event, NAF was unable to go into details about why Liquid wasn't attending, but did say how he felt about it:

"Of course I want to be playing as much Counter-Strike as I do. I don’t want to be chilling for the next month doing nothing. But other things behind the scenes unfortunately didn't allow that to happen. Of course [that decision] isn't my business and is above my pay grade."

While Liquid isn't the only top tier team opting to skip PGL Cluj-Napoca, they don't have the same breathing room at the top of their regional rankings that teams like Spirit, Vitality, G2, and NAVI have. A strong performance from an Americas team there could threaten Liquid's path to an invite to a later stage of the Major.

Still, the wins today against Complexity and Wildcard have pushed Liquid into the main event of Katowice.
