The IGL hoped they won some games in Katowice

JT talks about COL's new roster: "We knew it was gonna be a struggle from the get-go"

The South African IGL stressed the importance of PGL Cluj-Napoca for Complexity.

Complexity remain winless in 2025 after losing two series to Eternal Fire and Liquid at the IEM Katowice 2025 Play-In, resulting in their elimination. The NA team lost to Virtus.pro at BLAST Bounty Season 1 earlier this month.

This struggle, however, was something that Complexity's IGL Johnny' "JT" Theodosiou expected after the organization signed two tier 1 rookies in Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk and Nicholas "nicx" Lee to fill the void left open by the departures of Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski and Ricky "floppy" Kemery.

"Of course (we are) disappointed, no one would be happy with losing every single game," JT told HLTV after Complexity's elimination from IEM Katowice at the hands of Liquid this Friday, January 31th.

"I know we're in a learning phase and all that, but we need at least a few wins for our ranking and the new VRS system. We still have two rookies, so we knew it was gonna be a struggle from the get-go, but the hope was to get a few wins and try and get as far as we can. Now we didn't get any win, so PGL's gonna a really important tournament for us."

PGL Cluj-Napoca, which kicks off on February 14th, presents a good opportunity for Complexity to move up on the Valve Rankings as some of the best teams in the world such as Spirit, G2, Natus Vincere, and Vitality have decided to skip it.

Complexity need to start getting some victories to not fall behind too much in the Valve Ranking and lose the chance to qualify for the BLAST.tv Austin Major in June. On a positive note, JT and co. showed some improvements versus Liquid and will have a lot of time to practice for PGL Cluj-Napoca.
