Three NA teams to attend ESL Pro League Season 21
Liquid, M80, and NRG are the three North American teams attending ESL Pro League Season 21, the tournament organizer announced on January 13th.
Liquid will be the only one out of the three starting in Stage 2 as they were handed a direct invite by ESL based on Valve Global Standings from January 6th and are a top eight team in the world in that ranking. M80 and NRG, on the other hand, will start the tournament in Stage 2 and try to secure one of the eight spots up for grabs in Stage 1.
The Stage 1 of ESL Pro League Season 21 runs from March 1st to 5th in Stockhold, Sweden. The top eight teams in that Swiss group will advance to Stage 2, which is taking place from March 7th to 16th, and also feature a Swiss group apart from the single-elimination playoffs. This format resembles the format used in recent Counter-Strike Majors.
