JT on Major hopes: "I wouldn't be surprised if all four [NA] teams would make it"
With the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 Americas RMR just a few hours away, teams are getting their final practices in and are getting ready to start their journey in China. Some with a lot of weight on their shoulders and others not so much.
One team that is expected to advance to the Major is Complexity, despite the inconsistency the squad has been showing for some time now.
In an interview with HLTV, Complexity's IGL, Johnny "JT" Theodosiou, has voiced his disappointment regarding the results of the most recent event, IEM Rio, where his team only got a single win, but revealed that the squad is now "playing completely differently" and that this is the best everyone has felt all year.
It is not just JT and Complexity that have been feeling good lately, as there are seven Top 20 HLTV-ranked teams in the Americas RMR, and Complexity is the third-best out of the 16 squads attending the event. JT believes that the region is stronger than in previous years and some teams have been showing that on the International stage.
As for the other North American squads, a list from which JT excludes Liquid, the IGL doesn't think it's impossible for them to advance to the Major and stated that he "wouldn't be surprised if all four teams [Complexity, M80, Nouns, and BOSS] would make it."
Complexity will begin their Americas RMR matches against BESTIA, a squad that hasn't stopped climbing the ranks in the last couple of months and has shown good form throughout that period. The Bo1 match is set to start at 12:00AM, a late hour for East Coast Complexity fans.
