NRG best Brazilians to secure Pro League qualification!
It was a brutal collapse for arguably one of the best teams during regular season play in the ESL Challenger League. Legacy fell short of a Top 2 finish and, as such, will not be in contention for the ESL Pro League next spring.
It's a tough blow for the organization who made the sometimes-move to North America to compete in the region's online qualifiers and Regional Major Ranking qualification event.
But as for the Americans and NRG, this is a monumental moment as they have finally qualified for an international event after grinding for the past year. NRG bringing in Nick "nitr0" Cannella worked out for the lineup as he has turned this team around and struck fear into the remainder of the league.
The battle last night between Legacy and NRG was a testament to the Americans ability to come from behind. They lost the opening map to Legacy to make it seven straight map losses to the Brazilians, but found their feet as they dominated the next two maps 13-3, 13-9, the former being Legacy's pick of Ancient.
Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte rolled back the years with a stellar performance last night. His 55 kills was the reason for NRG's ability to come back after losing their opening map of Anubis. He top dragged on each map while propelling his team to a three-map victory to set up a match tonight against M80 for the ECL Season 48 title.
