E-Xolos LAZER part ways with RenanZin

The team have decided to pursue a more experienced piece ahead of their ECL debut this month.

Mexican esports organization E-Xolos LAZER have announced the departure of Renan "RenanZin" Henrique from their ranks today, seeing the 18-year-old Brazilian player leave the team following their qualification to ESL Challenger League Season 48. The decision to part ways with RenanZin is E-Xolos LAZER's first roster change since releasing their Argentine coach, Esteban "samp4s" Sampayo, at the end of May ahead of their ESEA Advanced Season 49 playoffs campaign.

This iteration of the Tijuana-based organization's Counter-Strike 2 division has been playing in the North American scene since mid-February, most notably competing in ESEA Advanced alongside a number of North American qualifiers. While the team's first few months in North America were relatively uneventful, Paulo "land1n" Felipe's squad has seen a recent uptick in their results, with the team finishing ESEA Advanced Season 49 in third place while also making playoffs in the CCT Season 2 North America Series #1.

The team also qualified to ESL Challenger League Season 48 via Relegation at the end of June, besting the Mongolian core of OMiT to claim a second spot for Brazil in North America's top domestic division. This qualification to ECL S48 and the team's recent success is what motivated the team to part ways with RenanZin, according to land1n — the team's IGL. He told Dust2.us that the squad decided to replace RenanZin with a more experienced player ahead of upcoming tournaments in the second half of the year.

E-Xolos LAZER are now:

  • Brazil Matheus "mawth" Gonçalves

  • Brazil Alef "tatazin" Pereira

  • Brazil Paulo "land1n" Felipe

  • Brazil William "w1" Almasan

E-Xolos LAZER will look to close on their new fifth ahead of the start of ESL Challenger League Season 48 on July 15th.
