G-Stew secures victory in Dallas opener
On Jake "Stewie2k" Yip's debut in the G2 uniform, he helped the organization get a solid win to ensure we would get more of the Smoke Criminal at the event. Thanks to the clutches of Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov and the firepower of Nikola "NiKo" Kovač, G2 was able to defeat Falcons comfortably on Anubis.
The match started with fans looking to see that Stewie2k was taking an anchor position on the B-site where he was paired up with Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač. While Stewie2k didn't light up the scoreboard, he worked well on the CT-side with his site partner as his six assists powered the European squad to a 7-5 half lead.
It was an even more dominant showing in the second half where G2 secured the opening pistol and steamrolled Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer's squad as they won round after round to take a commanding 10-5 lead. Falcons were able to chip back a few to make it 9-10, but G2 collected themselves with rifles in their hands as they secured the map 13-10.
G2 will find out their next opponent following the conclusion of Vitality v. Monte.
