BOSS make it close in EPL loss
BOSS certainly made it close against BIG in a series that they absolutely should not have even been close to winning. The unsigned squad brought it to the brink against the Germans on Ancient and then made it equally as close on Vertigo. Despite it being a 0-2 loss, BOSS certainly proved to themselves and to fans that this North American squad can hang amongst the best in the world.
Ancient was an incredibly close map, with fans looking at BOSS jumping out to a 7-0 lead as hope that the Americans could win their own map pick. Their T-side was strong, but BIG started the comeback towards the end and would carry that momentum into the second half. The Germans brought it to 12-9, but BOSS secured an overtime as they hoped to come away with a surprise first-map win. Overtime would not yield success, however, as BIG secured the victory.
Vertigo was even more heartwrenching as BOSS had several moments throughout the map where they held the weapon and economic advantage, only to lose to pistols or an even lower buy. On the flip side, BOSS also had moments where they forced through a few eco wins to keep it close. A 5-7 first half was what BOSS needed, but the second half was even tougher as the Americans couldn't finish out their T-side, even losing out to time in the last round.
BOSS, with the gutwrenching loss, will now play in the lower bracket.
