GGPR cut Creed; welcome Poison with arms wide open
GGPR have cut Evan "Creed" Dao and signed Everett "Poison" Ivy from Advanced team STMN. The removal of Creed comes after GGPR suffered a close 2-1 loss to Mythic in ESEA Premier Season 36.
Chase "lowrider" Releford told Dust2.us that GGPR made the mutual decision to cut Creed due to him not dedicating enough hours to the game outside of official matches. Additionally, lowrider alleges that Creed gave the team an ultimatum regarding Jake "eXotic" Vaupell, saying that he would only be willing to dedicate more time to the game if they cut him.
In response, Creed told Dust2.us that he disagrees with his removal from the lineup and says that his in-game hours weren't an issue. Instead he contends that the team's recent performances are a result of the team being unable to regularly practice due to eXotic having scheduling conflicts. Creed says he brought up this issue to lowrider on multiple occasions to no avail, with lowrider focusing in on Creed's hours in the game. Creed argues this is unfair because he believes watching demos on YouTube is more valuable for him as a player than playing PUGs. Creed also says lowrider made an ultimatum of his own to the lineup – cut Creed or he would leave the lineup.
Regardless of the reasons behind Creed's dismissal, his exit from the team will come as a heavy blow to GGPR as he was their second highest-rated player, putting up a 1.17 rating over the course of nine maps in ESEA Premier Season 36. In his place GGPR have added Poison, a player most known for his recent performances with Mexican lineup STMN. This will be his first season of Premier after seven seasons in Advanced.
With the addition of Poison, GGPR are now:
- Chase "lowrider" Releford
- Jeorge "jeorgesnorts" Endicott
- Jake "eXotic" Vaupell
- Omar "3ARK00Z" Elyyan
- Everett "Poison" Ivy
- Erich "ninja" Beyer (Coach)
Due to roster and schedule issues, GGPR had to withdraw from the DreamHack Open March Closed Qualifier. As a result, their next match and Poison's debut will be on March 2nd against Extra Salt.
