Imperial were amazing during their run in Copenhagen

Imperial eliminated from PGL Copenhagen Major

It was a good fight, but not enough to beat FaZe.

Imperial are exiting the PGL Copenhagen Major after a loss against FaZe in the Elimination Stage 1-2 bracket. Imperial started the second stage with an upset win over Virtus.pro but couldn't continue their win streak after meeting Spirit, which were followed up by Vitality.

With two losses, Imperial were sent to the BO3 elimination series, where they met FaZe, who had a poor start. The Brazilians weren't able to defeat the Europeans, as FaZe stay alive in the event, while Imperial are going back to Brazil early.

The first map was Nuke, picked by FaZe. The newly-acquired GameSquare squad opened up the series with a 3-0 T-side start, with Imperial tying the game up right after. Three by three once again, as FaZe and Imperial were also tied at the half 6-6. Going into the T-side, Imperial found it more difficult to get the ball rolling, as the Brazilians only won two rounds, losing the map 13-8.

Anubis was next, and the first-half result would be the same as the previous map, with both teams tied 6-6, as Imperial would go onto the T-side. FaZe would win the pistol round and the following one, but Imperial would completely destroy FaZe during the remainder of the half as the Brazilians would win every round after that, as they took the 13-8 win.

The Mirage decider saw FaZe get up to a healthy 8-4 lead on the T-side, as Imperial struggled to get many stops. However, going into the T-side, the Brazilian squad secured the pistol round which, coupled with a few more round wins brought them to an 8-7 deficit. Imperial would get just one more round win, as FaZe rallied back to take the map 13-8 and the series 2-1.

With this loss, Imperial are out of the PGL Copenhagen Major with a 1-3 record on the Elimination Stage. The Brazilians can be proud, though, as this squad surpassed every and any expectations, and contributed to the Americas region being awarded one more slot in the Shanghai Major.
