M80 split with Wildcard | ECL S47 Roundup Day 6
It's been a relatively quiet week so far, but games are going to rev up tonight as there are five matches scheduled to take place, meaning that 10 maps will be played. We'll get to see NRG finally kick off their season, while Wildcard looks to comeback after splitting with M80. Mythic are hopeful of climbing back up to the top of the standings while Party Astronauts are fresh off their victory in the Jönköping Open Qualifiers.
M80 1-1 Wildcard
It was a tough night for both M80 and Wildcard as the two sides had to adjust to some late player issues. For M80, they were dealing with Fritz "slaxz-" Dietrich playing from Germany while his visa is being sorted. As for Wildcard, they had Ian "motm" Hardy filling in for Gage "Infinite" Green for unknown reasons.
The first match saw the two sides play on Mirage, where it was Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa to decide that M80 would be coming home with a win. A even first half at 6-6 was all the advantage that M80 needed when they turned to their CT-side. Despite slaxz-'s understandable underperformance, the team was able to hold strong on their CT-side and pull away with a 13-8 victory to earn their first win in the league this season.
Heading into Inferno, Wildcard were seeking revenge. With motm in the squad, he was giving his best showing in a long time as he put up a server high 23 kills, 111.5 ADR, and a 1.92 ADR as the American-majority squad put down M80, 13-8. Wildcard were dominant from the very start of the map, having never let their lead go.
