Nouns, BOSS snag IEM Dallas 2024 Closed Qualifier invites

ESL have announced the invites for the Closed Qualifiers for IEM Dallas 2024, with Nouns and BOSS securing spots based on their ESL World Ranking. The two squads will battle two additional teams from the open qualifiers, with one team earning a spot at North America's sole S-tier event of the year.

Nouns and BOSS' invites to the closed qualifier comes after a string of strong results from the two teams, with both teams recently earning spots in the PGL Major Copenhagen Americas RMR. Currently IEM Dallas 2024 only has one NA team in the form of Complexity, who are natives to the Dallas region. However, there is also a Local Hero invite slot meaning one more NA team will be heading to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.

The choice of Nouns and BOSS for invites can possibly intuit who that invite may be as M80 was passed over for a Closed Qualifier invite despite being the second-highest ranked team in NA. As such, they would be a logical fit to claim the coveted direct invite to the event. Receiving a direct invite to IEM Dallas 2024 would hopefully make up for ATK's snub last year where Michael "Swisher" Schmid and co. were passed up for a Local Hero invite in place of Evil Geniuses, despite the latter organization being ranked behind ATK.

Based on the Closed Qualifier invites, it is also worth noting that Liquid will now have to go through either the European of North American open qualifiers to make their way to IEM Dallas. Should Liquid fail to top one the qualifiers, it would be the first time they've missed a Dallas event since it was first held in 2019 as DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019.
