cam set to play for University of New Haven
Former Chaos and Singularity member Cameron "cam" Kern has announced that he will compete for University of New Haven's CS:GO team in the upcoming league seasons, with the goal to be the first collegiate team to play in MDL. The closest a team previously got to this goal was RMU Eagles, who placed sixth in Advanced Season 29 to narrowly miss out on a chance at playing in Relegation.
The move marks a potential turning point for collegiate CS:GO as the team will gain a wealth of experience from cam, something typically not offered to the majority of similar teams due to more experienced players choosing to compete on teams outside of their schools.
cam also announced that he would be streaming all of the team's practices and matches in an effort to display the progress the lineup makes, with the yet-to-be-finalized roster competing in Open to kick off their campaign. In a follow-up tweet, cam gave his thanks to the University of New Haven's Esports Director and former Rugratz coach Corey "flashstep" Parks for the opportunity to compete on the team. flashstep previously competed on Rugratz, and is set to coach the collegiate lineup when matches get underway.
ESEA Season 35 is set to commence on August 31st.
