Zehn Masters to host unique WAN tournaments
It's not uncommon to see small LAN tournaments popping up from time to time with sizable prizes up for grabs, but you don't see a WAN tournament everyday. The Zehn Masters is a $20,000 tournament series setup by a company called ggCircuit, which partners with several LAN centers across America to host events. The prize pool is divided across ten different games and their respective tournaments.
The two CS:GO tournaments boast $1,500 each of the $20k purse, with the winners claiming $1,200 and runners up $300. What makes this unique isn't necessarily the nine qualifiers across nine different LAN centers, but rather that they culminate in a WAN tournament to decide who takes home the cash. What this means is that, as per tournament rules, all participants will compete from registered Zehn LAN centers, and not remotely from their homes or elsewhere. To thwart any attempts to sidestep this physical location requirement they will be monitoring IP addresses of all players involved.
