FURIA gets one last chance
Down, but not out, is how FURIA must look at their chances. Their victory against NIP was imperative in helping get closer to the playoffs, but losing against Astralis will definitely sting. FURIA continues to be hot and cold - looking incredible in one game, while almost being pushed over in the next. In this game against the Danes, they once again didn't look like they had the top quality that they have shown against opponents like NIP.
The first map saw Astralis head to Overpass where the Brazilians were unable to hold off the offensive prowess of the Danes. A fist round pistol win snowballed into a dominant 11-4 half. There wasn't much to the map other than to clean it up, which Astralis did with ease as they cleanly won the first amp 16-7.
FURIA then moved to their favored map of Nuke, where just yesterday they showed how strong of a team they were. However, they were unable replicate that showing today as Astralis proved to be a much more formidable opponent than NIP. A weaker than normal T-side saw FURIA panic on the back foot initially, but soon after calmed down as they went ahead 13-10. That lead would not last as the Brazilians let Astralis back into the match and failed to score another round as they lost their lead and the map 16-13.
FURIA now head to the Last Chance Stage where they will have their backs against the wall at ESL Pro League.
