M80, Evil Geniuses through to Sydney Second Day

The first IEM Sydney North American Open Qualifier kicked off last night, with little upsets happening throughout the evening. North America will be host to two open qualifiers, the first of which finishes today, while the second qualifier starts August 11th and ends August 12th.

Teams like M80, Evil Geniuses, and Wildcard progressed through to the round of five with ease, meeting little resistance in their way. Party Astronauts, Detonate, and Forsaken will also ply their trade tonight as they look to secure one of the available two slots for the IEM Sydney North American Closed Qualifier.

During first night of matches, M80 only lost seven total rounds through three games. Those rounds lost occurred against Bad News Bears who also had a similarly easy path to their matchup against the new CS:GO organization. M80 is scheduled to play Rocket later this evening at 06:00PM.

In other matchups, North American fans should tune into Party Astronauts and Detonate while Evil Geniuses take on Forsaken. The only other match in this round is Wildcard v. Spate.
