ATK qualify for EPL Season 18

ATK player Michael "Swisher" Schmid has announced that the team is set to attend ESL Pro League Season 18 as a result of the squad's win over paiN last night. The squad's qualification comes as a result of MIBR and Evil Geniuses' already confirmed presence at EPL Season 18.

With paiN's elimination from the ESL Challenger Season 45 playoffs, the post-season is now down to only three squads, ATK, MIBR, and Evil Geniuses Black. As MIBR have already secured a place in ESL Pro League Season 18 off the back of their victory in ECL Season 44, and EG Black are ineligible to receive the spot as a result of the main team's presence at the event, ATK have earned the spot off the back of their victory over paiN.

While the circumstances of ATK's qualification are no doubt a bit odd, this is not the first time a similar situation has occurred in ECL playoffs. This situation is reminiscent of ECL Season 43's consolidation final, where MIBR and oNe duked it out for the EPL Conference spot early on as a result of EG Black's ineligibility to receive the Conference spot.

ATK can now look forward to returning to Malta for two consecutive seasons of ESL Pro League, with their attendance for the European event slated for sometime in September. In the more immediate future, ATK are currently battling MIBR for a spot in the ECL S45 finals.
