Report: Complexity consider k0nfig to replace dephh
Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke may be in talks to replace Rory "dephh" Jackson on Complexity, according to a report from 1pv.fr.
The reported change for Complexity follows a string of lackluster results for the team, including crushing losses to ATK and Evil Geniuses in the past two weeks of ECS Season 8. The team also failed to qualify for DreamHack Open Atlanta after suffering a first-round loss to The Quest, with their only notable result in the same time frame seeing the team pick up wins over eUnited and Cloud9 in the first ESL Pro League Season 10 group stage to secure a spot in the second stage.
If k0nfig was to join the team, he would reunite with Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan, with whom he played with on OpTic in 2018. It would also see the player link up with in-game leader Benjamin "blameF" Bremer for the first time, giving k0nfig the opportunity to play under a Danish captain once again. The reported move is not the first time since k0nfig's stint in OpTic that the player was linked with a return to North America, with Cloud9 previously targeting the player as a part of their roster rebuilding efforts in March.
dephh has been playing under the Complexity banner since early 2016, being a core part of various iterations of the roster throughout the years. With Jason Lake's recent efforts to "build a juggernaut", dephh's time on the team may finally be coming to an end.
Should the move come to fruition, Complexity's roster would look as follows:
- Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan
- Owen "oBo" Schlatter
- Benjamin "blameF" Bremer
- William "RUSH" Wierzba
- Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke
- Jamie "keita" Hall (Coach)
Complexity are slated to play in the fifth and final week of ECS Season 8, taking on INTZ at 9 PM EDT tomorrow.
