Cloud9 bench TenZ; Subroza joins on trial
Cloud9 have announced that they will be benching Tyson "TenZ" Ngo and adding former Swole Patrol player Yassine "Subroza" Taoufik on a trial basis.
The benching of TenZ marks the first roster change for Cloud9 since they overhauled their roster back in early July with the additions of Kenneth "koosta" Suen, Damian "daps" Steele, Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas, and TenZ after parting ways with the majority of their previous roster.
Since then, outside of a strong initial performance at BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles, Cloud9 have struggled to find their form, with the team underperforming in ECS and EPL. In EPL, Cloud9 were recently relegated following losses to Complexity, eUnited, and Evil Geniuses.
For TenZ in particular, this 3-month tenure with Cloud9 has not produced the strong performances he had become known for during his breakout period with various squads in MDL. During this period, he only managed a 0.94 rating, with coach James "JamezIRL" Macaulay also saying that "there was a clash in desired playstyle" between TenZ and the rest of the team.
With this change, Cloud9 are now:
- Timothy "autimatic" Ta
- Kenneth "koosta" Suen
- Damian "daps" Steele
- Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas
- Yassine "Subroza" Taoufik (Trial)
- James "JamezIRL" Macaulay (Coach)
- Chris "Elmapuddy" Tebbit (Coach/Analyst)
- Tyson "TenZ" Ngo (Inactive)
- Maikil "Golden" Selim (On loan to Fnatic)
Subroza with debut with Cloud9 tomorrow as they take on INTZ in ECS Season 8 Week 4, with the team also set to attend BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen in less than two weeks.
