CSL opens registration for 2019/2020 season
Collegiate StarLeague have announced the details of the upcoming season of its annual collegiate league. Registration for the league is currently open on the CSL website and will remain so until October 13th, with matches set to begin the following week, on October 19th.
A major change from the previous season's format sees the introduction of a best-of-three round robin system, replacing the best-of-one single-elimination matchups that were utilized in 2018/2019.
The addition of the round-robin system will allow for far more matches to be played across the season, and offer teams the opportunity to continue playing in the league despite early losses. The top teams from the group phase will qualify for the double-elimination best-of-three playoffs, culminating in a best-of-five grand final for the lion's share of the $50,000 prize pool.
The Varsity league has been renamed to the Star League, and will be the primary division for colleges and universities that intend to field competitive teams. Formerly under the name of the Junior Varsity league, CSL's Open League will allow for those interested in competing in a more casual environment to enroll as well. Schools can only field one Star League team per season, while any number of teams may signup for the Open division.

The CSL 2018/2019 season was won by York University, who defeated the University of California Santa Cruz 3-2 in the LAN finals to take home $10,000.
