ex-Luminosity disband as players go their separate ways
Following their exit from ECS Season 8 Series 2, the players of ex-Luminosity have announced their decision to disband the team and go their separate ways.
Today's flurry of TwitLongers was started off by João "felps" Vasconcellos who announced that the team made the difficult decision to disband as without support from an organization they were unable to continue playing in America. He also mentioned that he will be returning to MIBR's bench until his contract expires or he is bought out.
Similarly, the team's most recent addition, Felipe "skullz" Medeiros announced in his TwitLonger that he will be returning to W7M's bench to ride out the remainder of his contract. The young player's tenure in North America has ended after only a month, having joined Luminosity three days before they decided to release their CS:GO team.
Finally, in Lucas "steel" Lope's TwitLonger, he mentioned that a number of organizations expressed interest in signing ex-Luminosity, however after the team fell to MIBR in ECS Season 8 Series 2 it made the team doubt the level at which they were improving and their future as a squad.
Before their decision to disband, ex-Luminosity was:
- Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato
- Lucas "steel" Lopes
- Ricardo "boltz" Prass
- João "felps" Vasconcellos (Loan)
- Felipe "skullz" Medeiros (Loan)
- Rafael "zakk" Fernandes (Coach)
The team's demise raises questions about what will happen to their spot in EPL as Season 10 is set to begin a week from today. Along with the now entirely vacant Ghost spot, ESL will either have to find two new teams in short order or run the North American portion with only 10 teams.
