paiN eliminated in Brazy Party
paiN have been bootcamping in Serbia for the last few weeks in order to prepare for the last CS:GO Major ever held. The BLAST.tv Paris Major will be a tough battle for the Brazilians, who have been tearing up the domestic scene and look forward to bringing their talents to the international stage.
For paiN, they also elected to take part in Brazy Party, hosted by Relog, in order to get some competitive reps against European teams. Despite a slow start, they got themselves together enough to reach the playoffs and face off against Cloud9.
The first map was on Cloud9's pick of Ancient, there it started as a very back-and-forth first half as the Russians were only able to take a slight advantage on their T-side.
paiN looked like they might take charge of the game after second their second pistol of the map, but they would not win the second-round force-buy and would find it difficult to get onto the bombsite as Cloud9 closed out the game 16-10.
Backs against the wall, paiN were now playing on their home map of Anubis where things did not get off to a hot start. Cloud9 would go up 4-1, despite paiN once again winning the pistol.
However, thanks to the T-sidedness of the map, paiN were able to finish the half strong en route to a 9-6 half. However, Cloud9 appeared to have an even stronger T-side as the Russians would dominate the second half and close out the map 16-13 and win the series 2-0.
While Cloud9 are not going to the Major, paiN are. The Brazilians will face off against fellow South American side Fluxo as their first matchup in a week.
