aris announces retirement and departure from Strife
Canadian Strife player, Paul "aris" Wilson, has announced his departure from Strife and retirement from CS:GO. The decision sees aris conclude his second tenure with the organization after three months. In the player's announcement of his decision to retire, aris cited the feeling that he had "Hit [his] limit as a player" and a desire to focus on different aspects of his life.
In a somewhat ironic twist, aris' original tenure with Strife from January to May 2022 also ended with his retirement from CS:GO. However, this first time in retirement was incredibly short-lived as aris returned to the fold three months later, being loaned to Detonate before joining BHOP. Only time will tell if this retirement will be more long-lasting (or we have a Shawn "witmer" Taylor situation on our hands), however should it be long term, the Fragadelphia 16 champion will be missed.
Fortunately for his former colleagues, aris has committed to helping Strife retain their spot in ESL Challenger League Season 45. This is important for the squad as the loss of aris alongside David "J0LZ" Jolin and Ryan "Snakes" Amann would have killed the roster.
With this Strife are now on the lookout for a replacement, with IGL Bobby "stamina" Eitrem telling Dust2.us that he has a short list of candidates assembled.
Strife are now:
-
Gage "Infinite" Green
-
Bobby "stamina" Eitrem
-
Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney
-
Matthew "d4rty" Paplawskas
-
Calvin "becker" Becker (Coach)
Strife's first match in ESL Challenger League Season 45 will be against ATK on April 26th.
