MIBR secure ECL NA grand final spot as Nouns get eliminated

If the first rounds had plenty of 2-0 results, the lower bracket semifinals and upper bracket final continued the trend, with all three series repeating the same score.

The most surprising result from yesterday was definitely Nouns' 2-0 loss against Strife. Despite David "J0LZ" Jolin's team having a great week with no losses, this was not a result many expected to see in such a crucial stage of the competition.

The most uneventful series out of the three was the upper bracket final between MIBR and ATK. The Brazilians opened the series stealing ATK's map pick, Inferno, with a 16-10 score, in a map where Matheus "Tuurtle" Anhaia was MIBR's savior with 29 kills. The following map, Vertigo, picked by MIBR, was very one-sided, as ATK couldn't get more than three rounds.

Down in the lower bracket, EG Black defeated LOS + oNe with 16-14 and 16-7 maps. The first map was Nuke, picked by the Brazilians, and it almost went their way, but William "RUSH" Wierzba had other plans as he posted 29 kills and 107.3 ADR in that match, dragging his team to victory. The second map was more comfortable for the North American side, as LOS + oNe looked very lost on the T-side of Inferno. The first half of that map ended 8-7, and the second finished 16-7.

The final affair saw Nouns leaving the competition earlier than expected. The series started with a good T-side from Strife on Inferno, and the team managed to carry the momentum onto the CT-side to end the map with a 16-9 win. Mirage, picked by Nouns, was a close game, as the "home" team was fighting for their life. The first half ended 8-7 in favor of Strife, and the second half was almost the same, ending 8-6, also in favor of Strife. The series top fragger was Bobby "stamina" Eitrem with 43 kills.

The lower bracket final will be played today at 08:00PM and it will see EG Black facing Strife. In the consolidation final, ATK is already waiting for the winner of EG Black vs. Strife, while MIBR is waiting in the grand final for either one of the three teams.
