arT: "YNk is a dumb guy"
Despite making it to playoffs of ESL Pro League, FURIA's path there was anything but smooth sailing. An early loss against MOUZ put them on the precipice of the Last Chance stage, and despite winning the rest of their games, losing maps to Movistar and BIG hardly inspire confidence in Brazil's best team.
During a livestream on Monday, Andrei "arT" Piovezan was reviewing his team's ESL Pro League S17 game against Imperial when he addressed the comments some analysts had made about him and his playstyle. The IGL focused mainly on Janko "YNk" Paunović due to the analyst's opinion on Twitter about calling "nonsense" to arT's in-game leading style.
The round in question is round two of the opening map in the series between FURIA and MOUZ. In this round, arT was alone in B apartments, completely separate from his two teammates on the A bomb site. He had information that a MOUZ player could have rotated to the B site, but with little time, arT dropped down from B apartments, tried to plant the bomb and was killed in the process. With less than 10 seconds left, his teammates who were over on the A-site could not retrieve the bomb or trade the kill in time to win the round.
YNk was not alone in criticizing arT, as, among other people, analyst Jacob "Pimp" Winneche, also believes the IGL has been holding back the rest of the squad. arT's big argument is that, in order to analyze correctly a round from his team, people shouldn't be looking at rounds that end by the clock, because that's not really the team's style.
"Janko is a dumb guy. If he wants to argue about FURIA's play style, he needs to pick [other] rounds and really argue about them, because when he picks these rounds that end with 15 seconds to criticize FURIA's style, you see that it doesn't make sense", the IGL commented.
Regarding more criticism, arT also talked about Alexandre "Gaules" Borba's opinions, which often are correct, according to the IGL, but that he has also heard some "shitty things with no context" coming from the streamer.
