FURIA falter
Andrei "arT" Piovezan's men played MOUZ for a chance to reach the the upper bracket finals. Regardless of who wins those finals, that team will automatically secure a spot in the top 12, so winning this match is imperative for both squads. FURIA defeated Imperial 2-0, but MOUZ absolutely annihilated SAW, only allowing twelve rounds total across two maps. This will be both teams' first opponent in the top fifteen at ESL Pro League Season 17.
The match started off on FURIA's pick of Mirage, but the game couldn't have gotten off to a worse start. Not only did FURIA lose the opening pistol, but they lost eight rounds in a row to go down 0-8 on their T-side. While FURIA were able to climb back to close the gap at the end of the first half 4-11, things were not looking good.
FURIA could not get any luck in the second half either as their performance was less than ideal, despite Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato doing his best to lead the team forward. The team would slightly come back, but the Brazilians couldn't hold off their European counter-parts as they dropped Mirage 16-12.
While already in the hole, FURIA would have to make Ancient count and to their luck, they started off incredibly well on their opening T-side as they grabbed a quick 7-1 lead. However, that lead would be the last time the team was in the driver's seat as they would not close out the half and go down 7-8.
MOUZ would show their comfortability on the T-side of Ancient as they cruised to a 16-9 victory, sending the Brazilians to the lower bracket where Complexity just were.
FURIA will face off against Movistar Riders tomorrow.
