FACEIT announce ECS Season 8
The next season of the ECS League, Season 8, will be starting in just a few days on August 12th with the first of the open qualifiers and will share a similar format to Season 7.
Season 8 will once again have four open qualifiers, running from August 12th to the 25th, with the top two teams from each qualifying for the ECS Pinnacle Cup. The Pinnacle Cup will run from September 10th-15th and see eight invited teams face off against the eight qualified teams to determine seeding for any open spots in the regular season brackets.
The regular season will span from September 16th - October 31st and will once again have one series per week where teams will be drawn into a bracket to fight for their share of $25,000 and an Invite to the ECS Season 8 Finals.
The only difference in format from Season 7 is that the team with the most prize money from the first two weeks of the regular season will earn the first spot at the ECS Season 8 Finals. The final three spots at the finals will be given to each of the respective winners of the remaining three weeks of the competition.
Season 8 will also see the finals return to North America with the dates and venue yet to be announced.
The dates for the open qualifiers are as follows:
- Open Qualifier #1 - August 12-15
- Open Qualifier #2 - August 17-18
- Open Qualifier #3 - August 19-22
- Open Qualifier #4 - August 24-25
