ESL announce Pro League Relegation dates and format
After a long wait, ESL has finally announced the dates and format for Pro League Relegation, and it's in one week!
Starting on August 15th, the Pre-Relegation Tournament will see Lazarus, Envy, INTZ, and Singularity fight in a double elimination best-of-three bracket, with a best-of-five grand finals. The winner qualifies for ESL Pro League Season 10, while the bottom three will be moved down to the Relegation Tournament.
The teams were seeded by their performance in ESL Pro League Season 10 and by their ESL CS:GO World Ranking. The first round matchups and seeding for the Pre-Relegation Tournament are as follows:
Lazarus (1) | vs. | Singularity (4) |
Envy (3) | vs. | INTZ (3) |
The Relegation Tournament will start August 17th using seeding determined by the Pre-Relegation Tournament. It will share the same format as its predecessor with a best-of-three double elimination bracket and best-of-five grand finals. The winner will qualify for ESL Pro League Season 10, while the bottom three will take part in ESEA MDL Season 32.
Joining the bottom three of the Pre-Relegation Tournament will be ATK who finished 3rd in ESEA MDL Season 32. The matchups and seeding for the Relegation Tournament are as follows:
Pre-Relegation 2nd (1) | vs. | ATK (4) |
Pre-Relegation 3rd (3) | vs. | Pre-Relegation 4th (3) |
ESL have still yet to announce what will happen to Ghost's spot in ESL Pro League Season 10. With Ghost no longer having a lineup, it is expected that that their spot will be forfeited with ESL inviting another team in their place, potentially the third placed team from NA Relegation.
