MIBR exit Katowice
MIBR came into the match against Fnatic after beating out Australian side Grayhound 2-1, and despite a dominant last map they had been one or two rounds away from losing that match 2-0. However, the bright spot of their tournament run so far was the outstanding performances from young gun Felipe "insani" Yuji at his first ever LAN.
Map one would be Vertigo, the map MIBR had dominated Grayhound on 16-2 to close out their win yesterday. MIBR started strong, in particular insani found multiple openings on A ramp however they were left rueing missed opportunities as they dropped rounds twice to Deagle buys from the Fnatic squad. After a close first half finished 8-7, the second half was anything but as the European mix took complete control to win out the map 16-11.
Any hope of the Brazilian team causing an upset was lost as they proved to be a level below Fnatic on the EU teams home map Overpass. Fnatic showed their experience as they took the young Brazilian squad to school in the first half putting together a 11-1 lead on the T side. MIBR managed to recover a couple of rounds in the final stage of the half as they rescued two late rounds for a 11-4 score.
Fnatic won pistol round and from there it was comfortable for the European side as the MIBR squad's T side comeback was squashed. MIBR eventually fell 16-9 and they find themselves going home with only their unconvincing win against the Aussie minnows. However, there is some hope for MIBR fans as their newest addition insani looks like an elite player in the making if his LAN debut is anything to go by.
