Quartet of Advanced players handed ESEA bans for malicious activity
On Wednesday, ESEA's Alexander "Aluminati" Rymaszewski made an announcement on their forums regarding a recent slew of bans for malicious activity.
This month, a group of players attempted to manipulate Rank Leaderboard standings by coordinating multiple players to disconnect from game servers whilst they are losing in an effort to try and deceive our system into thinking it was experiencing a Steam outage. The odds of being in a dozen of these matches within a month is infinitesimally low. Furthermore, the players are also heard audibly in the server and visibly seen typing in team chat attempting to convince other players to disconnect in a short period of time in a coordinated fashion.
The list of more than ten offenders were given 60-180 day bans based on the frequency and severity of their abuse.
Multiple North American Advanced players were caught red-handed in the investigation and given 60 day bans including:
Kanpekis Kawaii Killers
- Adam "freshie" Patterson
- "kingston-"
v3nding mach1ne
- "snav"
- "DARE"
No players or teams have made public comment, aside from "kingston-" changing his ESEA name appropriately to "wasfun". Both teams were awaiting the start of ESEA Advanced Season 32, but it is unclear what will happen now that almost half their roster has been smote by ESEA's ban hammer.
