wiz and the rest of EG could not do it again

EG goes down Heroicly

Despite taking the first map lead, EG just couldn't repeat their prior success.

In a match that seemed more about who had the loudest voice rather than the most potent strategies, Evil Geniuses and Heroic duked it out once again. With the scene set to play out on Nuke, Overpass, and Mirage, it would be anyone's game. Earlier in the event we saw how Evil Geniuses were able to shock the world with their close victory over the Danish side, but today it would be a rollercoaster of emotions.

The first map would see Evil Geniuses play their first ever match on Nuke, which was picked by Heroic. Starting out on the CT side, the Americans would fall on the pistol, but from there it would be a lights-out performance that shocked everyone. Somehow without breaking a sweat the scoreline would run up 12-3 score with the only rounds Heroic winning thanks to their opening pistol victory.

The second half would prove to a bit more of a struggle for the Geniuses as they once again lost the pistol, but would eventually rally back. The most alarming moment in the second half would be just as EG was on the cusp of victory in a 3v1 situation, just to pick individual gun fights and allow Heroic one moment of hope, before crushing it in the following force-buy round to win 16-9.

All the momentum would be for the Americans, with Jadan "HexT" Postma shouting and cheering for his team the whole time. But Overpass would prove to be more difficult than it was in their first matchup as Heroic would win their third pistol of the match and not allow the Americans any breathing room. There is not much to say as EG would only get two rounds on their offense. The CT side would be extremely similar as Heroic wins their fourth pistol and clean up the match 16-2.

Trading map picks would lead the two to head straight into Mirage, an NA staple. However for Evil Geniuses, they would once again fail to find their footing as their T-side looked ineffectual against a clearly warmed-up and dominant Heroic. The Danes would win their fifth pistol of the match, but give the Americans some hope as they took a 4-3 lead, but that would be as close as EG would get. Heroic would win the next eight rounds to close the half 12-3.

With EG's backs against the wall in the final half of the matchup, they would finally win a pistol, but it would not be enough as Heroic confidently took control of their T-side and would close it out 16-5.

Evil Geniuses now head to the lower bracket and will play Complexity on Friday at 09:30AM.

On all 3 maps, EG lost so many rounds that they should've bagged. I feel like they played poor but with a bunch of potential. Now they have stuff to work on with Vorborg, and hopefully they're even better next time they play
