gMd repeeks on LiViD; M3lio released
Anthony "gMd" Guimond has replaced Cedric "M3lio" Perrault on LiViD, Dust2.us has learned. gMd recently parted ways with Peeker's Advantage, not long after LiViD qualified for MDL Season 32 after beating Big Frames in the Advanced Season 31 grand finals.
gMd previously played on the French Canadian squad in 2018, where they managed a playoffs berth in Advanced Season 29. Unfortunately for gMd and co., they snuck into playoffs as the last seed, leading to a first round matchup against a FURIA squad that had ended the season with a flawless 16-0 run. Elimination was swift, with gMd parting ways with the team shortly after.
gMd's return to LiViD reunites him with Danny "huynh" Huynh and Michael "MkaeL" De Luca, the only two players who remain on the roster from his time on the team. The team's previous roster change saw them add Abdo "c4lypso" Agha in place of Michael "miLLe" St-Pierre, with the move leading to the team topping the regular Advanced season and managing a dominant run through the playoffs to secure a spot in MDL.
When contacted by Dust2.us, LiViD issued the following statement:
Yes, the team decided that gMd would be the right move to go with considering his MDL experience. Its always a tough decision and it pains us to see M3lio go. He is a great player and were confident that he will not have any trouble finding a new team to play with. We wish him nothing but the best.
With gMd's addition, LiViD's roster now looks as follows:
- Danny "huynh" Huynh
- Michael "MkaeL" De Luca
- Mathieu "INCREDIBLE" Bergeron
- Abdo "c4lypso" Agha
- Anthony "gMd" Guimond
- Fabien "atLaNtis" Deguiraud (Coach)
LiViD are set to debut with their new roster in the first ESEA Proving Grounds qualifier, with the event kicking off tomorrow at 4 PM EDT. Registration will remain open on the event's ESEA page until 3 PM EDT tomorrow.
