tweiss exits Mythic

Tyler "tweiss" Weiss has announced his departure from Mythic, marking the end of his two-month tenure as a permanent starter for the stream team. The 23-year-old player had initially linked up with Mythic in late-June as a stand-in/sixth man for Brandon "YuZ" Cyr and Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir, leading up to tweiss being called up as a replacement for the French-Canadian player.

During tweiss' time with Mythic, Erik "fl0m" Flom's troops unfortunately faced another underwhelming season in ESL Challenger League during Season 43, narrowly dodging the relegation bracket thanks to week seven wins over Villainous and Post Mortem. While his team struggled, tweiss had a very strong season overall, ending Season 43 with a 1.12 rating over 17 maps — the highest rating on Mythic.

While tweiss seems to be in strong individual form, he told Dust2.us that he will not be immediately seeking out a new team due to starting a new full-time job. He noted that he doesn't want to commit to a team if he can't dedicate the time needed to help them succeed. When asked why he left Mythic, tweiss said he struggled in the stream team's pugging environment and that he felt he couldn't thrive in an environment where busy stream schedules limited the amount of time to practice.

It is currently unknown who Mythic will call up to replace tweiss, however they have been fielding a number of stand-ins in recent ESEA Cash Cups and qualifiers. Leading names include 4ORMULA's Marco "Pol0" Hernandez, Cooper "Trucklover86" Phelps, and, controversially, Kaitlin "Keiti" Boop.

Mythic will look for a new fifth as they head into 2023.
