CCT NA Series 2 playoffs to feature two Top 30 teams

After a little over a week of competition, CCT NA Series 2 has reached playoffs, with the Mexican TO announcing the eight invited playoff teams last night. Among the teams headlining the invites are two Americas squads currently in HLTV's top 30, NA fan favorites Complexity and the Brazilian upstarts of paiN. These two squads come into the event as heavy favorites to take down the other fourteen teams and claim the $11,000 first-place prize.

Complexity come into this event far and away the highest rated team. The majority of the team have returned to America after a disappointing run at Elisa Masters Espoo and are looking to show they are still absolutely dominant on their home turf. Dominating this event will be important for Complexity as they look to find some wins in 2022. As for paiN, the Brazilians will head into this after their success at CBCS Invitational 2022 in São Paulo where they bested 00 Nation in the LAN finals. While paiN don't get much shine for their work, they have made quiet inroads to being one of the best teams in Brazil and will be Complexity's main competitors.

Looking towards the rest of the invited teams, ECL heavyweights Nouns and MIBR have also received invites to the playoffs and should be expected to make the quarterfinals if not the semifinals with ease based on seeding. Disconnected also shouldn't be counted out from a deep run as the recently formed squad has shown they can mix it up with a number of ECL-level squads.

As for teams that made it through the group stage, EG White look like a strong contender after absolutely dominating the weak opposition they ran into during the group stage. Additionally, while Khizar "Momo" Rehman hasn't faced a true test in CCT yet, he has been performing quite well alongside his new EG compatriots. The other squad from the group stage to look at is LOS + oNe. While the Brazilians and Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa have disappointed somewhat internationally, they are still one of the better teams in NA and should have the potential for a deep run akin to the best invited teams.

Outside of the obvious names, there is a potential for the likes of Davenport, Detonate, and Villainous to put on a good showing, however it is unlikely for them to do serious damage in such a stacked field.
