CodeRed to represent Seaside
CodeRed Esports, an esports agency founded by industry veteran Paul "Redeye" Chaloner, have revealed via Twitter that they now represent long-time Canadian CS:GO commentator Keith "Seaside" LaFortune.
CodeRed Esports also represents a number of familar names from CS:GO, including Frankie "GetFrank" Ward, Redeye, Mathieu "Maniac" Quiquerez, Henry "HenryG" Greer, and Matthew "Sadokist" Trivett. A number of "influencers" are also a part of the team, including YouTubers Philip "3kliksphilip" Dyer and Aamir "Cyanide" Thacker. The agency also offers consultation to game developers and tournament organizers, among other ventures, with further details available on their website.
Seaside is most notably known for casting the Americas and CIS Minors for ELEAGUE Boston 2018, although he has made appearances in many other events, including WESG's USA and Canada Regional Finals, DreamHack Open Montreal, T.O. Spawn, and Northern Arena. He has also casted a vast number of open and closed qualifiers online, and was a commentator for the first-ever Dust2.us Masters that took place in 2017.
When contacted by Dust2.us, Seaside told us the following:
I'm really happy to be on-board with CodeRed. Being apart of such a amazing talent pool with the likes of Sadokist, Frankie, and Redeye just to name a few. This is a moment in my career I've been chasing down, working those long days, and working so hard to improve, it's all got me here. I canno't wait to see what the next chapter holds with CodRed.
This doesn't mean I'm leaving CS:GO, in fact I'm expanding my game list as we speak to include titles like Apex Legends, Rainbow Six, Call of Duty, and NHL. I'd like to be known as a commentator of many titles!
Seaside was also the coach of Variance for a part of MDL Season 31, although he parted ways with the squad mid-season and began seeking new opportunities. When questioned as to whether he intended to continue coaching teams, Seaside told us that he has "a few teams in mind" and that he would be "reaching out" to them soon. He has plenty of time to do so as the start of the next season is almost two months away.
