Nouns yet to find a worthy opponent
It has been a slow start to the ESL Challenger League Season 43 North America. Two weeks ago only one match was played, with Nouns pulling the plug on Disconnected with a 2-1, as Brendan "Bwills" Williams shone with 70 kills over the three maps.
This past week, ECL Season 43 North America finally saw a lot of play, with five games happening in two days.
Starting off in Group A, Snakes Den entered the server for the second time this season. This time they had to face oNe and the experienced Brazilian players showed why they are strong candidates to win the competition. The newly promoted squad of Snakes didn't have an answer for Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa 25 kills per map, as oNe won with a clean 2-0 sheet. This was the only Group A game to happen during the last week.
Over in Group B, games are plenty. The week started with Nouns winning 2-0 against Red Wolves, in a close 16-14 first map, but an undisputed 16-0 win on Nouns' pick of Vertigo, with 15 rounds on the T-side. This was the team's first game with Christopher 'cJ' Jones, after Jeorge 'jeorgesnorts' Endicott. The second game of the group was between two promoted teams, Magic School Bus and Villainous, with the latter taking a commanding 2-0 win. Despite the result, Magic School Bus was very competitive throughout both maps.
The second day of play had Nouns demolishing Magic School Bus with 16-3 and 16-8 wins, as, just like the day prior, David "cynic" Polster topped the fragging list, this time with 49 kills. To round off last week's games, Red Wolves played again, this time against ATK. The winners from the previous season completely mauled the Wolves with two quick maps, 16-3 and 16-5 were the scores.
The standings look as follows:
This has been a tough season for the newly promoted teams, but it is just starting. Today 7AM NA, former Victorum, and oNe face off at 08:00PM.
