Asia can't stop the Geniuses
Since neither of these teams are expected to go far in the Major, winning their BO1s is imperative if either of them want to make the next stage. Knowing so, the two sides faced each other and vetoed out all maps except Nuke.
IHC instantly won their T-side pistol round and then denied EG's crucial first gun round as well, climbing to an early lead. They continued to stack rounds until EG finally answered in the eighth round. Starting from a 0-7 deficit, EG were able to pull back the half, with a heroic clutch from Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov on the AWP to secure the final round of their 8-7 half.
Looking to bounce back, Tuvshintugs "Annihilation" Nyamdorj kicked off IHC's CT-side with a three piece. Swapping things around Sanzhar "neaLaN" Iskhakov was able to overpower IHC in the following round with three of his own kills to set the road to an EG win back on track. Only able to put out a single further round, IHC were bested 16-9 to close out the map.
Evil Geniuses now move to the 1-0 pool, and IHC fall to the 0-1 teams.
