oNe & Fluxo fall early
It was not the morning that Brazilian fans wanted as they would have gotten up at the crack of dawn to see their two representatives at ECL Rotterdam fall in their opening matches. North America-based, but Brazilian-dominated, oNe + Los faced off against ENCE as the opening match of the event in a best-of-one for their group play.
The match began on Dust2 where oNe were hoping to get some things going on their T-side, but were met with a stalwart defense from Europeans of ENCE. After going down on the opening pistol, oNe clawed back and kept it competitive at 2-2. However, that equal footing wouldn't last for much longer as ENCE pulled away with five successive rounds to widen the gap. From there, ENCE would continue their dominance and only allow oNe two more rounds in the half to close it 11-4. The second half was really just a continuation of that dominance as ENCE would win the pistol and only allow one round to oNe as they captured the opening match, 16-5.
The second match of the day saw Fluxo go against the CIS powerhouse of Outsiders. With the Adriano "WOOD7" Cerato led Fluxo looking to avenge their fallen Brazilian brothers, they opted to play on Dust2 as well. Like the game before, Fluxo started out on the T-side with a bang as they were victorious in the pistol, but could not capitalize on it. Outsider's CT defense was incredibly strong as they defended the half 9-6.
Now it was Fluxo's turn to keep it together, and they did just that. This time, Outsiders won the pistol, but Fluxo immediately responded with five CT rounds to tighten the score to 10-11. From there, both sides would trade rounds before the Brazilians forced overtime after being down 15-13. In Overtime, it looked like Fluxo had the advantage when it was 18-16, but they would be stopped and Outsiders would win out in the second overtime 22-18.
oNe and Fluxo will be facing off against one another in the Group B Elimination match at 02:30PM later today.
