Liquid to face Vitality in EPL Grand Final
The last time Liquid played a grand final on LAN, Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" was the number-one selling single, legend Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund attended his final Major and North America still had its own ESL Pro League division.
A lot has changed since Liquid's 2019 Intel Grand Slam winning roster took to the stage, but finally North American fans have a team to cheer for in an S-Tier grand final. All the talk, understandably, surrounds Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis however, it is the step up taken by Josh "oSee" Ohm that has really elevated the team in their playoffs run.
With YEKINDAR and oSee running hot and the ever-reliable firepower of Johnathan "ELiGE" Jablonowski and Keith "NAF" Markovic to fall back on, Liquid, for the first time in years, are able to challenge the top European teams. The team standing between Liquid and the first trophy for North America in the post-online era will be Vitality, after they beat G2 2-0 on Mirage and Inferno with impressive comebacks on each map. Vitality have been bolstered by new addition Lotan "Spinx" Giladi and will be thirsty for their first trophy with their new lineup.
Liquid will have the added pressure of carrying the weight of a region on their shoulders. Regardless of the result, the team's recent performances along with the noticeable improvement from their fellow North Americans on Complexity will have raised the hopes of NA fans as the IEM Rio Major fast approaches.
Liquid will meet Vitality in the Grand Final tomorrow at 11:00AM to battle it out for the $175,000 first-place prize and a direct spot to the BLAST Premier World Final in Abu Dhabi.
