Detonate contracts implode after impasse
Detonate have parted ways with their CS:GO roster, with the team's players being released from their contracts. The move comes just days after Detonate returned their roster to full strength, adding former Electrify Steel player Israel "LEARSI" Vargas to the squad.
Detonate's owner, Levoski Brown, told Dust2.us that the organization elected to release the squad after being unable to resolve a contract impasse with some of the more recent additions to the squad. In particular, the main dispute was over Detonate would offer a salary to the roster as well as paying for them to attend LAN events like Fragadelphia 17, which the team recently returned from.
Brown admitted that Detonate found it difficult to offer salaries to a squad that had gone through a number of roster changes after signed in late April. As such, the two parties mutually split after Detonate paid out the remaining travel reimbursements to the squad.
The former Detonate squad have elected to stick together for the time being. Unfortunately for the now-homeless squad, they have a difficult road to retaining their ESL Challenger League spot as they currently have a 0-5 record in Group B.
